About Meraki Tales

Hi, I'm Anca - the owner, dreamer and maker behind meraki tales by popix.

"Meraki" is a Greek word (I love Greece) and it embodies the essence of pouring soul, love and dedication into every 
creation. "Tales" represents the stories each piece carries - sometimes simple, sometimes adorned with embellishments.  Together they reflect the beauty of handmade artistry, where every object tells its unique story. Oh, and Popix is my 
nickname - over a decade old and still going strong (my friends swear that it fits my personality).

Meraki Tales was born from a deep need to express myself and to bring the ideas in my mind to life through my own hands.

THE PROCESS

Wether made from clay, threads, ink or paper, each piece I create is a reflection of my passion, creativity and authenticity. The process is not quick and sometimes it gets quite dirty. But my goal is to craft beautiful, unique, sometimes imperfect objects that brighten your home and fill your heart with joy. Every handmade piece here has its own narrative and the one thing they all have in common, no matter the shape, material or colour, is that they are all made with love and soul. 

THE INSPIRATION

A big part of my inspiration comes from traveling. It’s when my brain finally switches off autopilot and I start noticing the small details of a new place or of a familiar one that I'm revisiting. That’s usually when ideas start flowing and my notes app spirals out of control.

The unfamiliar has a way of pulling me into the present and disrupting old patterns of thinking. "Look closer" it seems to say. So I do. I take hundreds, sometimes thousands, of photos when I travel. And when I revisit them later, they bring back more than memories. They bring back feelings. That’s usually when inspiration finds me again.
